Second bill of lading signed by John Gills with ms. details of cargo "shipped ... upon the good ship called the John of Saltcoats... bound for New Port Glasgow ... one hundred and eighty barrells of beef by order of Messrs. William Arbuckle, William Cross and consorts, merchants in Glasgow."
Each bill of lading has extensive ms. notes on verso.
