One of the famous forgeries of John Wolfe, a London printer, who had travelled in Italy and invented a printer, "Antoniello," in order to publish Machiavelli's works which had been banned in Italy since 1559. Printer's device (McK. 226), which appears on t.-p., was first used in this book.
