Both volumes inscribed on flyleaf: Sarah Peirson's book given by my Grandmama Cogdell. Volume 1 inscription dated: Janry ye 3d 1768. Volume 2 inscription dated: Janry ye 3d 1767. Books of the Bible contained in each volume inscribed on flyleaves in same or similar hand. Sarah Peirson was presumably the daughter of the Francis Peirson and Sarah Cogdell who married in York in 1754.
