Descript 2 volumes bound as 1 : ill., port. ; 26 cm
Ownership and Custodial History Binding suggests book was given as a prize in the second quarter of the eighteenth century to a student at Latijnse school te Zwolle. Inscription has not survived.
Binding Information Zwolle prize binding: Mottled gold-tooled calf binding, sewn on 5 cords, each board with the crowned Zwolle coat of arms above a panel with ZWOLLÆ as centrepiece in an elaborate decorative border; spine with a gold-tooled red morocco label in the 2nd of 6 compartments, each of the others with the crowned Zwolle arms and ornaments, gold-tooled raised bands, gold-tooled board edges; blue paste edges alternating between 2 decorative patterns separated by diagonal wavy lines; replacement Dutch-marbled endpapers; cloth ties missing.
Note Paged continuously: v. 1, 8 prelim. leaves, ix-lxxxix, [5], 895 p.; v. 2, 3 prelim. leaves, 865-1240, 244 p., 190 leaves; 2 frontispieces.
