A Harvard commencement oration of 1649, delivered by one of the overseers.
Wing suggests Cambridge, Mass. as place of printing, but gives date of publication as 1649, which seems too early. Evans 29 suggests 1649 as date, but thinks Cambridge unlikely. Evans 1441 gives 1709 date: "Sewall's Diary II: 263, under date of 17 September, 1709, states: 'Mr. Green finishes printing Mr. Whiting's Oration.' ... that it was reprinted in 1709, ... could hardly have been demanded."
