A reply to Gauden, John. Eikōn basilikē. Authorship of the Eikon basilike was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king.
"Burned by proclamation, Aug. 13, 1660, and by order of the convocation of University of Oxford, in July 1683"--McAlpin Collection Catalogue.
